Students this week are transitioning to new projects. We are finishing up last weeks beautiful masterpieces and starting on brand new assignments each with a new focus.
Here are some updates on each classes new project!
Kindergarteners are beginning a weaving project. They will be creating beautiful one of a kind fish collages and will give their fish scales using a weaving technique. This will be a great challenge for the kindergarteners as weaving is no easy task.
Just like our kindergarten students each fish is one of a kind!
1st Graders have finished their magnificent cityscape paintings, and will be starting on a self portrait series inspired by the zones of regulation. Each student will be tasked with drawing a self portrait of what they look when they are happy, sad, mad, and frustrated.
2nd Graders are beginning a beautiful landscape assignment. We will be using chalk pastels to add color, a material we have not yet used this year!
3rd Graders are finishing their self portraits and starting on a painting assignment inspired by Australian Aboriginal art. I am excited to see these paintings develop!
4th Graders have begun a rather complicated painting project! I have been so impressed with student work so far. Students created an 3D design and will add color by using their color mixing skills. Amazing progress!
5th Graders are beginning to combine elements of science and art by creating animal and plant cell inspired abstract paintings. We are still in the very beginning stages of this fun assignment.
If your artist is looking for some art projects to work on I have attached some youtube videos from my video series Brushstrokes with Mrs.Broderick. Your artist may have worked on some of these already but they can always revisit an idea!
